Mayor Tim Scott

The City of Canton wants our citizens to enjoy their New Year’s holiday, and be safe and use precautions while using fireworks.  Fireworks are permitted; however, fireworks may not be discharged at all after January 2nd

We ask that everyone celebrate responsibly, and be mindful of elderly neighbors, who may be especially sensitive to noise, and in need of rest.  In addition, be respectful of “Quiet Zones”, and other vulnerable populations.

We would also like to remind the public, that it is illegal to discharge a weapon inside city limits; and if any individual is caught discharging a weapon, you will be charged with a misdemeanor; including a fine of approximately $500.00.

The city will ensure that emergency services remain available for the needs of our citizens during this holiday, and we wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
