Board of Aldermen

The Board of Aldermen serves as the legislative branch of our city government. They make the laws, approve the city budget, set policy direction, and help guide major decisions related to growth, planning, zoning, and community services. Aldermen represent the citizens in their ward or district, bringing local concerns and ideas into public discussion. While the Mayor oversees the day-to-day operations of the city, the Board of Aldermen provides oversight, approves major spending, and helps ensure that the city operates responsibly, transparently, and in the best interest of its residents.
